Oh hey there, I’m James.

I love adventure, new experiences, and most importantly, people. I’m pretty stoked to have you here interested in my work.

Some quick facts about me:

I’m a lover of all arts. In my free time, I’m painting, drawing, playing music—always creating. I love nature walks with my dog Aspen, where we get lost in the woods together. I live for a dark, rainy day but also look forward to sunny days to feed my ever-growing houseplant collection. I’m also 6’7” (sorry, I don’t play basketball).

A camera has been in my hand anywhere I’ve gone since the days of disposables. Photography casually started as a hobby—skateboarding with friends, running through the woods, exploring new and old places, documenting our days as they flew by us. My camera was an extra extension to capture how I perceived things around me. Hence the effortless style that you see today. It’s wildly candid, natural, and organic. My art is created from my heart, and I love getting to use my talents for you.

What you can expect

When it comes to capturing your day, my outgoing side allows me to immerse myself in the moment, seizing prominent details for an inclusive ‘he’s part of the party’ vibe. Simultaneously, my introverted nature advocates for a more reserved approach, observing and capturing everyone’s candid self, the small details that can’t go unnoticed. You’ll get to feel relaxed and open while still being completely absorbed in your day. Consider me a friend who’s just hanging out. (But with a bunch of cameras pointed in different directions haha) I’m always attuned to every moment happening and anticipating the next. I’ll be poised and ready to seize those genuine moments.

I don’t play into typical wedding photography trends. When I’m creating, know I’m putting every ounce of my own artistic vision into it. I want these pictures to be 110% you. Documenting on old, (but trusty) film cameras helps me achieve this. I believe that the process, look, and feel of film opens up a world of opportunity to document with a timeless, eternal, and human quality.

My Booking Process

If you’ve made it here, I assume you’ve checked out my work and are ready to get the ball rolling. The next step would be to let me know here! By the end of two business days, I’ll be reaching out to discuss scheduling our first consultation. This can be done in-person or by video chat. In our initial consultation, we’ll chat about you, your vision, and if we’d make a good fit. Once we decide on a package that’s tailored to you, I’ll require a 50% deposit as a retainer for your date. The remaining balance will be due 30 days prior to your day. You’ll also receive a customized proposal and contract with all of the little details in between. Once the contract is signed and your deposit is paid, it’s official! From then on, know that I’m here to help as much as I can. As a vendor who has been apart of many weddings I also want my couples to know that I’m here to help (as much as I can) in the planning side of your day. While I always recommend having a planner, if you need help with your timeline, or you need opinions on the ins and outs of the day, I’m here for that too. Ultimately, I want your day to be as smooth special as it possibly can.
